Banksia ericifolia (Heath-leaved Banksia)

DESCRIPTION: A hardy, fast-growing, low-maintenance dense shrub to small tree with needle-like foliage and vibrant candle-shaped orange to red flower spikes. Grows well in sandy, loamy and clay soils and tolerates coastal conditions, frost, drought and salt spray.

USES: Makes an excellent screening plant, windbreak or feature shrub, with vibrant orange flowers that attract nectar-feeding honeyeaters and other native birds, as well as bees and butterflies.

FLOWER: Red, Orange, Gold (March to September)
