Banksia integrifolia (Coast Banksia)

DESCRIPTION: A hardy evergreen native tree with dark green foliage that is silvery underneath. Among the most adaptable of all banksias, it tolerates a wide range of soil types including loam, clay and sand, and thrives even in dry, rocky or gravelly conditions. It prefers well-drained soil and will not tolerate permanently waterlogged areas.

USES: Widely used as a hardy decorative feature tree or coastal windbreak. It's also suitable for coastal restoration, erosion control, streetscapes, parks and reserves. It provides food and habitat for native wildlife, including critical winter nectar for birds and insects.
